It retains the original sticker from the exhibit on the back and a value of 3,000 Lira. There is some crazing and age to canvas along with some nicks to frame. The frame is signed Italy on the back.

This magnificent painting features the Opera in Paris and is rendered on a gray rainy day. Gerome used oils, typically on canvas or on board. Gerome typically signed his paintings with his first initial and last name. Over the last few years Geromes work has been very sought after and is becoming increasingly hard to find.
